The United Airlines baggage policy for passengers travelling from North America to India allows 1 free baggage in Economy class, 2 in Premier, First and Business Class, and 3 in Premier Executive and Star Alliance Gold. As per luggage restrictions, the second bag on board is charged $50. Extra charges are different for different classes and points of origin of flight. Unities airlines cabin baggage policy is the same for all classes, flights and points of origin. The luggage dimensions needs to be such that it fits under the passenger seat and or in the overhead cabin. United Airlines History
United Airlines was founded in April 6, 1926 as Boeing Air Transport and initially began it services as airmail carrier. In the year 1934, the airline got the name Untied Air Lines and William A. Patterson was appointed the president of the company. Initially United Airlines operated its flights on U.S. air mail routes, east-to-west along a transcontinental route from New York City to San Francisco via Chicago and Salt Lake City, and also on north-to-south along the West Coast. After many modifications further, on June 1, 1961 United Airlines merged with Capital Airlines and became the world's biggest commercial airline. In 1968 the company was reorganised as UAL Corporation and the United Airlines became the fully owned subsidiary.
