Kuwait Airways, the flag carrier of the country, was established in 1954 following the oil boom in 1940s. Back then, Kuwait Airways flights were serving a limited air route, connecting cities of Beirut, Abadan, Jerusalem and Damascus. Later, the central government of Kuwait acquired 50 per cent shares in the airline followed by 100 percent acquisition. In 1962, Kuwait Airways started its services by taking jet-propelled aircraft, Comet 4-C, in lease. During the era of 1960, Kuwait Airways added more flights to its schedule and expanded its route map to offer air tickets to London. With the advancement in the aviation industry, Kuwait Airways went on to acquire three Boeing 707 in 1968 and had an all Boeing 707 fleet with 8 aircrafts by 1978. The gradual expansion of fleet allowed the airline to serve many destinations across the world. The national airline of Kuwait is planning to expand its route map to include over 46 countries around the world. Kuwait Airways is committed to providing best-in-class hospitality and services to its passengers. It offers online booking of flights and has low air fare, which makes it popular among passengers.
