Darjeeling

Trekking in Darjeeling is an experience which no lover of
nature should miss. It brings you close for real with the
snow-capped mountains and the magnificent splendor of the
Himalayas. The region abounds in rhododendrons, magnolias,
primulas, orchids and ferns of numerous varieties. About
six hundred species of birds inhabit the emerald green forests
on the slopes of the mountains.

objects, jewellery, wood carving, woven fabrics, carpets, handicrafts,
silk and handloom products - but if you are looking for bargains
you have to shop judiciously and be prepared to spend plenty of
time looking. If you need an umbrella these can be bought here
cheaply. Made out of bamboo, they are collectors' items themselves!
Also, a packet of tea is a popular souvenir to be taken from this.
