Lufthansa

Lufthansa is the largest airline in Europe and is derived from Luft, which is the German word for ‘air’ and Hansa which is the powerful medieval trading group. This airline is the German flag carrier and the world’s sixth largest airline. It operates world class services to 200 destinations in 100 countries and together with its partners, it serves over 410 destinations. It is based in Cologne and its main base and primary traffic hub is at Frankfurt International Airport. Lufthansa is a founding member of Star Alliance which is the largest airline alliance. Lufthansa was created on 6th January 1953 and has grown largely ever since. The airlines logo which is an encircled crane in flight was created in 1918. Its livery is a Eurowhite scheme, composed of primarily white and blue with yellow/orange accents. This is one of the most popular airlines and a favourite among many from all parts of the world.
