Etihad Airways History
In July 2003, Etihad Airways was established as the national airline of the UAE (United Arab Emirates) by a royal order issued by Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Etihad Airways started its operation on 5th November, 2003 with an inaugural flight to Al Ain. On 12th November, 2003, Etihad Airways began commercial operations with its flight services to Beirut. Etihad Airways started first direct flight from the UAE to Geneva in June 2004. Further, in October 2005, Etihad Airways began direct flights to Brussels and Toronto. In the year 2008, Etihad Airways carried more than 6 million passengers worldwide.
Etihad Airways Codeshare Agreements
For international operations, the airline has codeshare agreements with 11 airlines, namely Jet Airways, Aer Arran, BMI, Brussels Airlines, Iran Air, Malaysia Airlines, Middle East Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, Sri Lankan Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines.

Etihad Airways offers three classes of passenger travel, namely First Class or Diamond Zone, Business Class or Pearl Zone and Economy Class or Coral Zone.
